road trips

8,300 miles and four weeks later we are finally back in Long Beach. we drove from Salt Lake City, to San Francisco. we drove into Reno around 12:30pm, and before finding a wal-mart to sleep at for a few hours we came across an in-n-out. It had been a month so we had burgers and shakes, then we got a little sleep before driving into San Fran. We got there around 10 and got some food. After spending the day in the city we slept on a friends couch in Oakland, before driving the Big Sur. Joel and I got to Big Sur around 2ish, and relaxed all day. The plan was to meet are brothers there (Kevin and Kyle). but we had no idea what time they were going to get in. we cooked dinner and built a fire and waited up for them for a while, but when you're camping once the sun goes down there is nothing to do but go to bed, so we fell asleep around 11. Are brothers got there around 2am and woke us up. It was good to see some familiar faces after being away for a month.

That morning we woke up and made are way down to the beach to go for a swim. I was really dirty because I hadn't showered for a while at this point and had been wearing the same clothes for a week or so. the water was freezing. we found this rock where the ocean created these pools that were just deep enough to jump off the rock into the water. so I soaped up and jumped in. After we got back to the campsite we just sat around for a while. I brought my sling-shot so we picked up rocks and started shooting squirrels. The game eventually evolved into who could shoot and break a beer bottle. that game lasted a while until I almost hit Kyle and Kevin. game over. we tried to use the rest of are food for dinner that night so we made a pretty big meal starting out with pasta and ending with hobo stew. A 2 course meal while camping is pretty rare.

And that is how the trip ended. It's good to be home.
